My Best Advice

Drink some water + stretch + count your blessings.

That's it. It's simple and easy and it works for so many things. Does your back hurt? Try drinking some water and stretching. Got a headache? Drink some water and stretch it out. Mad at your husband? Drink some COLD water and stretch out that tension. I bet you'll feel a little better.

Water is so important to your whole health. I haven't always been great at drinking water. In fact, used to live in a constant state of dehydration. I would wake up daily with crease lines from my pillow. I would have to reapply lotion every 30 minutes because my skin was screaming for hydration.

A lady once told me, "The skin you have when you are 50 is the skin you deserve." and it resonated with me so from that day forward, I made a conscious effort to drink a sufficient amount of water. It immediately made me feel better. Now I have somewhat of a spiritual relationship with water. It makes me feel more alive.

I know not everyone is a fan of water. It is hard to start drinking if you have never been a real good water drinker. Here are some tips to help you increase your water intake.

  1. Infuse fruit in to your water. I like to add lemons. Some people add raspberries or cucumbers or blueberries to make their water taste more fruity.

  2. Use a water intake tracker or a water bottle that shows you how much you should be drinking every hour.

  3. Try to add something like Crystal Light or Mio to your water to give it some flavor.

  4. Try water at different temperatures to find out which one works best for you. I like to drink ice cold water out of a straw and room temperature water out of a bottle.

  5. Keep pictures of yourself with deep wrinkles and flaky skin around you to remind yourself what you're heading towards if you don't start drinking water.

Now I'm not a health care professional so I can't really say all the added health benefits for water, but I can speak from experience by saying that when I drink water, my body feels better. I have less headaches. My bones feel less creaky. My vision is more quick to focus. This combined with stretched out limbs and muscles, provides for optimum performance in all aspects of life.

For me, stretching squeezes out all the gross stuff trapped in my muscles. Tension; old used up emotions; the extra glass off wine I had last night - Stretch that out and release it all to welcome in better vibes through your body. It also makes me feel like a ballerina and they're just magical creatures so theres that.

After you've drank some water and while you're stretching, think about the things you can be grateful for. Get very small with it and grow. I'm alive. I have clean water to drink. My body is able to stretch. I have access to the internet. Keep going. If you're looking for things to be thankful for, you will continue to find them. Compare those pieces of gratitude to whatever is troubling you. You will have a better sense of clarity and feel a little more guided to what your next step should be. If you're focused and mindful of the benefits of doing these three things, you will feel better.

I bet you a bottle of water. ;)

Thanks for tuning in! See you next time!
