What are you doing in 2020?
Easy Visualization Techniques to Help You Set Goals for 2020
What is your plan? How are you going to achieve what you set out to do? When it comes to finding your path, the key to achieving what you want in life may lie in your ability to utilize visualization to achieve it. Knowing how to visualize the outcome that you desire will help you become more effective as you work towards it. Here are some easy visualization techniques to help you reach your goals.
Illustrative Technique
This technique uses both physical and mental components. The first thing that you need to do is to think of something that you would like to achieve. Are you fitting in those size 32 jeans again? Are you earning the extra $10k to pay off your student loans? Start thinking about what it's going to take to get there. Begin by drawing a physical representation of all the factors that are involved. If you want to run a 5k, draw a picture of yourself running and drinking more water. Draw yourself waking up a little earlier to make it around the neighborhood before the kids get up. You want to try and make these drawings as detailed as possible. The drawings are not the critical factor - if they're more like stick figures, fine. You want to take your goal from inside your soul and let your eyes see it in reality.
Meditative Visualization
This technique is like watching a movie in your mind, except you get to control the scenes. While this is a more passive approach than the previous one, it can still be just as effective. Find a quiet space. Lie down, close your eyes, control your breathing and try to picture the scene you want to visualize vividly. How are you moving? When you get a clear image of the scene in your head, add people and the noises to the movie. Who are you seeing? What do you hear? Slowly build the image until you have the entire picture of the scene in your head and can feel yourself being involved in the action.
Using any of these visualization techniques will help you achieve your goals and work toward living your purpose. Don't forget to put in the work. Your dreams don't work if you don't. You will need to put in the work to actually reach your goals. Continue to visit these visualizations regularly. After some time and hard work, you'll start living the pictures in your mind and discover what you're really capable of doing.
